Top Reddit Stocks Last Week: HTZ, GOOG, and GME

Hertz, Google, and GameStop were the three most-mentioned stocks on Reddit last week. Hertz still led with 3,246 mentions, but chatter fell 16.45% from the prior week. Google climbed 26.3% to 2,992 mentions and was the clearest mover among the biggest names, while GameStop held near the top at 2,966 mentions even as discussion slipped 16.62%.

The bigger change came just below the top three. Nebius jumped 210.52% week over week to 2,450 mentions, making it the breakout momentum name even though it did not crack the top spot by total volume.

Hertz stayed on top, but the squeeze buzz cooled

Hertz was still Reddit’s most-mentioned stock, even after mentions fell 16.45% and the stock slipped 2.64% over the week. The main narrative did not really change. Reddit stayed focused on a possible squeeze, with top posts centered on call buying, gamma ramp talk, rising borrow costs, and heavy short interest speculation.

Just as important, several of the biggest posts were traders posting quick wins and oversized positions. That kept attention high, but the week-over-week drop in mentions suggests the frenzy cooled a bit after a very hot stretch. Sentiment was neutral overall, but the dominant tone inside the top posts was still aggressive speculation.

Google was the most interesting move among the heavyweights

Google added 26.3% more mentions week over week, nearly catching Hertz and GameStop, even as the stock fell 3.62%. The conversation was more balanced than euphoric. One of the biggest posts framed Meta’s open-source AI push as a direct threat to Google, while another made the bullish case that GOOG could be the next Apple-style long-term compounder.

There was also a separate wave of attention around Google Play after a post about a purchased movie disappearing from a user’s library. Put together, Google’s rise in mentions looked less like a single squeeze or earnings-style event and more like a broad debate stock. Bulls leaned on valuation and long-term earnings power, while skeptics focused on AI competition and platform trust. That mix kept sentiment neutral, but it clearly pulled Google further into the Reddit spotlight.

Nebius was the fresh mover

Nebius was the standout mover of the week. Mentions surged 210.52% to 2,450, and the stock jumped 44.29%. The Reddit narrative was classic momentum. The biggest posts were profit screenshots, victory laps from traders who had been in the name earlier, and repeated attention on a reported Michael Burry short position that users said was deeply underwater.

That combination matters on Reddit. Big gains attract more eyes, and short-side pain adds fuel to the story. Unlike Hertz, where the squeeze narrative was already well known, Nebius felt like a fresh chase. Sentiment was neutral overall, but the posts themselves were driven by momentum and trader excitement.

GameStop stayed loud, but it was not the new story

GameStop remained a top-three Reddit name, but mentions fell 16.62% and the stock was down 3.18% for the week. That makes it more of a steady background force than the key change on the board. The biggest posts revolved around Ryan Cohen and a possible eBay move, technical setup talk around unusually tight Bollinger Bands, buy reratings, and a new 13F disclosure showing added shares from Renaissance Technologies.

The tone stayed bullish, which is not unusual for GameStop on Reddit. But compared with Google’s rise and Nebius’ explosion in attention, GameStop looked more like a familiar constant than a fresh catalyst-driven breakout.
