Reddit’s stock chatter last week was led by three familiar names: Microsoft, Google, and Micron. Microsoft finished as the most-mentioned stock with 3,657 mentions, Google stayed close behind at 3,530, and Micron hit 3,292. The bigger story, though, was what changed from the week before. Microsoft and Micron both saw major jumps in attention, while Google stayed big but cooled off.

Microsoft turned earnings into a Reddit frenzy

Microsoft was the clear winner of the week. Mentions jumped 76% week over week, and the stock climbed 21.75%, making it both a top name and one of the more meaningful movers.

The catalyst was straightforward. Reddit locked onto strong quarterly results: revenue of $90 billion, up 18% year over year, net income up 31%, EPS up 32%, Azure revenue topping $100 billion for the first time, and Microsoft 365 Copilot reaching more than 30 million paid seats. The dominant Reddit narrative was bullish and simple: Microsoft showed that heavy AI spending can still come with strong profits and cash flow. That is why so many top posts were not just about earnings, but about outsized trading wins riding the move.

Google stayed near the top, but the tone shifted

Google remained one of Reddit’s biggest names by volume, but mentions fell 37% from the prior week even as the stock rose 11.77%.

The top posts point to why. Reddit users were not rallying around a single breakout Google catalyst. Instead, the discussion split between two themes: Google’s AI changing web traffic patterns, and concern around AI spending. One of the most popular posts focused on Reddit’s own warning that search referrals were choppy, with users blaming Google’s AI answers for keeping people on search pages instead of sending them to sites like Reddit. Another widely shared post contrasted Apple’s light AI spending with Alphabet’s much heavier capex load. The result was a more neutral setup: Google stayed important, but the conversation was more about its ecosystem impact and cost structure than outright hype.

Micron became a volatility magnet

Micron was the other big attention grabber in this trio. Mentions surged 74% week over week, even though the stock fell 10.63%. That mismatch is what made it interesting.

Unlike Microsoft, Micron’s Reddit spike was not driven by a clean earnings-style fundamental story in the top posts. The feed was dominated by options gains, dip-buying chatter, and speculation around the broader AI selloff. A recurring narrative tied Micron to forced selling in crowded AI trades alongside names like SanDisk. Whether that theory holds up or not, it clearly shaped the discussion. Reddit treated Micron as a high-beta proxy for the AI unwind and rebound, which kept attention high even with sentiment staying neutral.

The takeaway from last week is pretty clear. Microsoft had the strongest mix of scale, momentum, and bullish narrative. Google was still one of Reddit’s biggest names, but the conversation shifted from excitement to debate. Micron drew some of the fastest-rising attention, but for traders, not long-term clarity. It's also note-worthy that GameStop almost didnt make the top10 list for the first time in years. Could the meme saga finally come to an end?
