Reddit’s stock communities were unusually active last week, with traders piling into everything from AI and semiconductor names to beaten-down consumer stocks and familiar meme favorites. Let's take a closer look at the most popular stocks on Reddit last week.
WEN was the biggest week-over-week mover in the group, with mentions jumping 2,212% while the stock gained 7.79%. The Reddit tone was bullish, and the move looked driven less by a single hard-news event and more by a fast meme cycle that suddenly turned Wendy's into a crowd trade.
WallStreetBets was packed with YOLO screenshots, jokes about bagholders, and retail-style field research from users visiting stores, counting drive-thru traffic, and pitching a turnaround setup. There was also popular posts that framed the bull case around new leadership, while others cast Wendy's as a beaten-down name with room for a rebound.
MU was the most-mentioned stock on Reddit last week, as mentions climbed 218% to 6,091 and the stock rose 7.02%. While the aggregate sentiment was neutral, the top posts were full of conviction, gain screenshots, price-target bravado, and even tattoo bets tied to the stock pushing higher.
The main catalyst was clear in the broader Micron discussion supplied this week: Reddit latched onto a powerful AI memory story after posts highlighted revenue that more than quadrupled and guidance that came in above analyst expectations. That fundamental backdrop spilled into the meme layer fast. By the end of the week, MU was getting both serious attention and classic Reddit victory-lap posts.
MSFT was the other major name by volume, with mentions up 180% to 5,899, even as the stock fell 7%. Unlike MU, Microsoft was not drawing attention because traders were celebrating a rip. It was drawing attention because Reddit was arguing over whether the selloff had gone too far.
The top posts split into two camps. Bulls called Microsoft cheap versus earlier levels and pointed to stronger earnings, Azure, OpenAI exposure, and improving Copilot adoption. Bears focused on heavy AI spending, shareholder pushback, and a broader software selloff that posters said was crushing big tech outside semis. SpaceX headlines also pulled Microsoft into market-cap comparison posts, but the bigger theme was simple: MSFT became one of Reddit's biggest value-versus-risk debates.

TThe clearest winners last week were MU and WEN, but they arrived there from opposite directions. Micron’s Reddit momentum followed a stock that is already up roughly 260% year to date, fueled by enthusiasm around AI memory demand and strong financial results. Wendy’s, meanwhile, is still down about 5% this year, making its sudden surge in mentions feel more like Reddit searching for the next meme trade.
