In today's world, data is the new gold, and it's no secret that alternative data is becoming increasingly important for making better investments. To that end, we're excited to announce that Dillibits is expanding its data offerings to include three new types: Business Outlook, 4chan mentions, and Telegram members.
Let’s start with Business Outlook. Business Outlook is a rating from 0-100 where employees rate the business outlook of their company. We aggregate this data from the top company review sites in the US and the initial findings are very interesting. In the last year, a brutal year for the stock market, the shares of a company with a high business outlook have outperformed companies with a more bleak business outlook. In fact, over the last year, only 20% of the companies with a low business outlook have seen a jump in their stock price. During the same time period, 42% of all companies with a high business outlook have seen an increase in stock price. This tells us that it would be wise to invest in companies with a higher business outlook.
Insperity is a good example of a company with a very positive business outlook according to its employees.
4chan, just like Reddit, is a platform where people discuss, amongst other things, stocks, crypto, ETFs, etc, and where early new trends and investment opportunities can be found. By tracking mentions of stocks and assets on 4chan, investors can stay ahead of the curve and make more informed investment decisions. In short, our data shows us that when a stock is trending on 4chan, it’s more than likely that a significant change in price is occurring or that it will occur.
To provide a concrete example, you can look at the mentions of Bitcoin on 4chan.
Lastly, we're tracking the popularity of communities on Telegram. Telegram is an important communication app, especially for many cryptocurrencies, and monitoring the growth or decline of a community's members can provide insights into which cryptocurrencies are gaining or losing popularity, which can be used as a proxy for the asset's price.
